![]() For those staying ashore, you can catch a glimpse
of Anegada from the SkyWorld observation deck on one of Tortola's highest
points, or on Virgin Gorda, on the road from North Sound to Leverick Bay.
On both occasions Anegada is known for several treats, Caribbean lobster, miles (upon miles) of deserted beaches, snorkeling, flamingos, and bone fishing! The restaurants on Anegada specialize in the local spiny or Caribbean lobster, some of them are huge! There are several dining choices on the Southern side of Anegada, the Anegada Beach Club, Neptune's Treasure, or Pimato Point, all of which appreciate reservations being made, and they stand by VHF radio channel 16. Likewise there are several beach bars that serve lunches on the North Shore too, at Big Bamboo and Flash of Beauty on Loblolly Bay and Cow Wreck Bar and Restaurant on Cow Wreck Bay. Sometime during the day, a dinghy will pass by the anchored yachts at Setting Point, selling baked goods treats from Pam's Kitchen at Neptune's Treasure. Charter guests have been heard to say, "Whatever you do, never change the brownie recipe!" There are bicycles and cars available to rent and of course there are taxis to carry you to the secluded beach areas. Try snorkeling at Flash of Beauty and Loblolly Bay, or the miles of beach at Cow Wreck Bay. For fly fishermen or any angler, guides can be arranged for bone fishing on the reef, and maybe the taxi driver can point out the flamingos that have been reintroduced into the salt ponds on Anegada. They have been especially successful at reproduction, and have even attracted some "volunteer" flamingos (They were just passing by one day!) to join them. Anegada is the perfect getaway for those wishing
to avoid CNN and the Wall Street Journal. After several days on Anegada,
one begins to learn how important, or unimportant those items really are.

captain about visiting Anegada.
